Peter Cousens is one of Australia's most outstanding musical theatre performers; a successful actor, on stage and on television; a cabaret artist; performing at multi- national corporate functions; as a commercial and television presenter and as a recording artist.

His starring roles include Tony in West Side Story; Chris in Miss Saigon; Raoul in the Australian Production of Phantom Of The Opera; Alex in Aspects Of Love; Marius in Les Miserables. Nanki Poo in The Mikado, Eddie in Blood Brothers, Bobby in Company, Ravenal in Show Boat; Anthony and more recently Tobias in Sweeney Todd.

Peter was The Phantom in London's West End production of The Phantom of the Opera for 11 months from April 1997 to March 1998
During 1999 and 2000 Peter worked with the Melbourne and Sydney Theatre Companies in Company and Macbeth and in Darlinghurst Nights at the Sydney Opera House.

He later devised and wrote, with Tony Sheldon, his own one- man show entitled A Life On Earth. The show traces the journey of Peter's professional and personal life through song, poetry and stories, sometimes dramatic, often funny but always entertaining. The Sydney Morning Herald's Bryce Hallet (August 27, 2000) described his show "surely the most polished act in town". During 2001 Peter toured the show across the eastern states

In 2002 Peter entertained the Queen at CHOGM and performed with the Australian Army Band at the Toronga Zoo Twighlight Concert, was joined by Marina Prior at Twin Towns on the Gold Coast, hosted the Mo awards and performed for ten weeks A life on Earth at the tiny Clarendon in Katoomba and then for 4000 people at the the Cassegrain Winery, Port Macquarie. A season playing Zac in A Chorus Line followed and more concert work in Prom Praise at the Sydney Town Hall

In 2003 Peter made his debut with the Sydney Dance Company as the MC in their highly acclaimed Tivoli; was visiting Fellow at the University of Wollongong where he devised and directed Migratory V with the 3rd year students. He continues to teach regularly at The Brent St School of Performing Arts. He toured Queensland with the new Australian musical Eureka in concert and has just completed A Musical Christmas an album of carols and songs
Peter has recorded three other successful solo albums; Corner Of The Sky From A Distance. and A life on Earth He has recorded a children's album, Are We Nearly There Yet with Noni Hazelhurst.

Peter constantly works in Corporate entertainment and spends some time each year at sea, entertaining on some of the finest Cruising ships in the world

Peter has a degree in Dramatic Art from the National Institute of Dramatic Art. (NIDA)
Peter is patron of the National Association for the Prevention
of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN).
